Technical Requirements

If the system detects that you do not meet the minimum criteria, it will, to the extent possible, send you a message instructing you to take the necessary steps to rectify the situation.

You must meet the following requirements to use the Tribunal's Secure E-filing Service.

Operating systems supported and certified:

• Microsoft Windows 7
• Microsoft Windows Vista
• Microsoft Windows NT® 4 with Service Pack 4 and later versions
• Microsoft Windows 2000 SP3 and later versions
• Microsoft Windows XP SP2 and later versions

Web browsers:

• On Microsoft Windows operating systems:

• Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or later using the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine or the Sun Java Virtual Machine version 1.5 or later (download Sun Java Virtual Machine at http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp)
• Mozilla Firefox 3.x using the Sun Java Virtual Machine version 1.5 or later (download Sun Java Virtual Machine at http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

In addition, all browsers must:

• support 128-bit encryption
• have cookies enabled
• have JavaScript enabled
• have a running Java Virtual Machine, as specified above

Please ensure that you have the latest security updates and fixes for your operating system and Web browser.

Browser settings must be changed according to the sections below:

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x to 8.x
• Mozilla Firefox 3.x

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5

Enabling cookies:

• Select "Tools" from the browser Menu bar
• Select "Internet Options"
• Select "Security"
• Select "Custom Level"
• Scroll down to "Cookies" and select "Enable" under "Allow per-session cookies (not stored)"
• Click on "OK" in the "Security" window
• Click on "OK" in the "Internet Options" window

Enabling Java:

• Select "Tools" from the browser Menu bar
• Select "Internet Options"
• Select the "Advanced" tab
• Click on "Sun Java" or "Microsoft Java", but not both
• Click on "OK" in the "Advanced" window
• Click on "OK " in the " Internet Options" window

After correcting your browser settings, close your browser for the new settings to take effect.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x to 8.x

Enabling cookies:

• Select "Tools" from the browser Menu bar
• Select "Internet Options"
• Select the "Privacy" tab
• Click on "Advanced"
• Click on "Override automatic cookie handling" in the Cookies box
• Click on "Always allow session cookies"
• Click on "OK" twice to exit

Enabling Java and JavaScript:

• Select "Tools" from the browser Menu bar
• Select "Internet Options"
• Select the "Advanced" tab
• Click on "Sun Java" or "Microsoft Java", but not both
• Click on "OK" in the "Advanced" window
• Click on "OK" in the "Internet Options" window

After correcting your browser settings, close your browser for the new settings to take effect.

Mozilla Firefox 3.x

Enabling Java:

• Select "Tools" from the browser menu bar
• Select "Options"
• Select the "Content" tab
• Click "Enable Java"
• Click "Ok"

Enabling Cookies (Firefox 3.0 to 3.4) :

• Select "Tools" from the browser menu bar
• Select "Options"
• Select the "Privacy" tab
• Click "Accept cookies from sites"
• Click "Ok"

Enabling Cookies (Firefox 3.5 and up) :

• Select "Tools" from the browser menu bar
• Select "Options"
• Select the "Privacy" tab
• Set "Firefox will:" to "Remember history"
• Click "Ok"

After correcting your browser settings, close your browser for the new settings to take effect.
